100 million euros in 2021, 70M in 2022: the market value of Romelu Lukaku plummets

The year 2022 is a year to forget for Romelu Lukaku… (except in the event of good results at the World Cup with the Red Devils of course).

After an exceptional 2020-2021 season with Inter Milan, the Red Devils striker decided to join Chelsea to finally realize his childhood dream.

A dream that turned into a nightmare. A year and 15 small goals later (statistics too poor for a player who arrived in exchange for… 113 million euros), Lukaku (already) signs his return to Inter in order to regain his feelings and win back the hearts of the Nerrazuri. A bet for the moment failed.

Injured in the thigh since August 28, Lukaku has already missed 12 games this season (ten with Inter, two with the Red Devils). Big Rom’ no longer has the opportunity to display its qualities and has therefore logically lost its value. It also appears tops the list of footballers who have suffered a record loss in their transfer market valuation. Estimated at 100 million euros in December 2021 by the specialized platform Transfermarkt, Lukaku would no longer be worth “only” 70 million euros today. A fall of 30M which places it in particular in front Marcus Rashford (-25M) and Timo Werner (-25M also).
