Aficionados of cuffs and jump kicks will be delighted. the catch will sign his return to Abbeville (Somme) with a promising gala scheduled for Saturday, October 22 at the sports center.
An evening under the sign of sport and spectacle organized jointly by the city and the Abbevillois judo club withc Rixe Catch. During the presentation of this event, the mayor Pascal Demarthe did not hide his joy to see this discipline returning to his city.
11 competitors on the program
“The last wrestling gala in Abbeville dates back to 2010. The town had a great time with this spectacle sport during major galas that filled the sports center. There was once even a water wrestling gala at the pool. I am convinced that the public will be present. »
In the presence of two wrestlers from the organization Rixe Catch, the mayor of Abbeville recalled “it is a popular sport. Spectacles, of course, but above all sports with overtrained athletes. »
For this big evening where 11 competitors will follow one another in the ring, the city has planned things big as indicated by the deputy in charge of sports. Herve Denis.
“We have been working on this organization for six months. 420 places are planned in bleachers and 770 chairs around the ring. Two separate entrances will be provided as well as three refreshments. Tickets will be on sale from September 14 during permanence by the Abbevillois judo club at the omnisports center on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evening. Tickets on sale until October 14. There will be no sale the same evening. »
To ensure the organization of this gala, the JCA will be present with 35 people from the club. After the fights, an autograph session is planned for the fans. Six bouts are scheduled with a 30-minute intermission. There is no doubt that this enticing poster will be followed by many spectators where the good guy will be encouraged while the bad guy will be shouted down as usual.
Organizer and wrestling within Rixe Catch, Jack Spayne assures him: “there will be a show with great champions, some of whom will come from abroad. »
The full program for this evening will be announced in a future edition. The names of the competitors may be changed in the event of injury. However, we can announce a fight with four wrestlers and as a grand finale, a match with 6!
Wrestling gala on Saturday 22 October at 8:30 p.m. at the sports center. Doors open at 7 p.m. Prices : 12 € and 5 € for children under 12 years accompanied in bleachers. €15 and €6 for children under 12 years accompanied in gold square (chairs). Bar and restaurant on site. Sale of tickets at the Abbevillois judo club. Parking provided on Boulevard Vauban.
