Women’s basketball with qualified for the Evita Games

The Capital teams, in 3×3 Sub 16 and 3×3 Sub 14; from Tinogasta, in 5×5 Sub 15; and from Belén, in 5×5 Sub 17, were classified as representatives of women’s basketball from Catamarca in the Avoid Games 2022, which will be held in the city of Mar del Plata. The qualifying Provincial Stage ended this Tuesday at the “El Gigante” Sports Center in Tinogasta, in an event that was organized by the Provincial Directorate of Social Sports of the Secretary of Sports and Recreation.

In the 3×3 Sub 16, Capital kept the triangle beating Santa María (14-0) and Santa Rosa (11-4) to be the first classified.

In the 3×3 Sub 14, in the semifinals, Tinogasta beat Capayán 5-0, while Capital did the same 8-6 against Belén, forming the duel between the local representatives of Juventud Unida and Montmartre. In the final match, which was very even during the 10 minutes of play, the capital women defeated the tinogasteñas by 5-3 and got the passage to the national instance.

In the 5×5 Sub 15 triangle, Tinogasta beat La Paz (32-9) and added to his win on Monday over Capayán (24-4) he secured his qualification for Mar del Plata, unleashing the celebration of the locals who were present at “The giant”.

And on the side of the 5×5 Sub 17, in a duel of winners, Belén and Tinogasta defined. In an electrifying match, the girls from Peñarol won 45-41 against those from Juventud Unida, and thus the Nativity Scene girls will represent Catamarca.
