Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands: Here he gives everything in tennis

When you see the photos of Willem-Alexander (54) visiting the Cruyff Legacy Summit in Amsterdam, you automatically have to grin. The Dutch king attended an event for young people with physical disabilities – and demonstrated his physical fitness. With a tennis racket and a lot of physical effort, he went to the royal exchange of blows. And even if Princess Beatrix’s (84) son was quite ambitious: If a ball went wrong, he still had a good laugh.

Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands gives his all in tennis

It’s nothing new that the father of three daughters doesn’t take long to ask himself to become active when he’s on an appointment. Willem-Alexander has been baking cakes, dropping anchors and spraying graffiti. During his most recent visit, the king was right there at a tennis match. The husband of Máxima of the Netherlands (51) will probably no longer become a passionate tennis player. However, that didn’t stop him from giving his all on the pitch. In addition to sport with the small, yellow ball, Willem-Alexander also tried his hand at football. The monarch has much more contact with this ball sport, after all he always actively supports the Dutch national team in national and international competitions. Irrespective of his sporting talent, the regent cut a really great figure, since he took his time for the people who had given him a friendly welcome in Amsterdam.

Willem-Alexander is a king of the people

In April 2023, Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima have been on the throne for nine years. During their reigns, he and his sweetheart always try to get as close to the nation as possible. The couple has already taken in refugees in one of their castles – and the king’s office is also occasionally glimpsed. There is no question: the monarch would like to get close to the citizens of the Netherlands, to be their king of the people.

In the video you can see how compassionate Willem-Alexander and Máxima are.
