The country’s Minister of Sports assured that they are working “articulately” with Conmebol for the duel between Flamengo and Athletico Paranaense, scheduled for October 29 in Guayaquil.
The government of Ecuador, through the Minister of Sports, reacted to rumors that Conmebol was analyzing a change of venue for the duel between Flamengo and Athletico Paranaense for the Copa Libertadores final.
“We have been working jointly with Conmebol, and we maintain permanent contact,” said Sebastián Palacios, through his Twitter account. And he sentenced: “Guayaquil is the venue. Let’s not give room to rumors.”
As reported by the portal First fruits from Ecuador, between Friday 23 and Monday 26 September20 homicides were registered in Guayaquil and Durán (15 of them would be linked to drug trafficking).
Beyond the complex social situation, Conmebol has not yet officially reported any changes for the Copa Libertadores final: everything indicates that Flamengo and Athletico Paranaense will face each other for the title, on Saturday, October 29, at the Monumental Isidro Romero Carbo stadium in Guayaquil.
