What is the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Zandvoort like for catering entrepreneurs and what does a beer cost?

The Grand Prix of the Netherlands in Zandvoort is not only a big party for the supporters present in the coastal town. It goes without saying that it is one of the most important weekends of the year for the catering entrepreneurs present. How is it going for the catering industry and how are they experiencing this festive weekend?

The party violence in Zandvoort completely erupted on Friday. Many fans were already present in the coastal town in time to experience the festivities from front to back. Naturally, the necessary (alcoholic) refreshments are also consumed, so the Formula 1 weekend is also an important part of the annual budget for the local entrepreneur. GPFans went to investigate on the day of the first two free practice sessions.

Andere ‘vibe’

In addition to the Formula 1 violence, it is of course interesting to see how the catering establishments deal with the important weekend. We spoke to Christine Yeh-van der Veen of Hotel Keur to inquire about the life of the catering entrepreneur. “It is not extremely busy, once full is full. We notice that there is a completely different vibe than usual. We notice it on the terrace, people come for an extra drink after the day at the circuit. is the vibe in Zandvoort in particular that makes the difference”, she says to GPFans.

Side Events

But what should we imagine with that ‘vibe’ that is being talked about? “You notice that entrepreneurs are very busy with the events this weekend, such as the many side events that take place here. The fun, people are looking forward to it. After all, we have had two years of corona,” says Yeh-van der to know. As is known, a lot is organized on the circuit for the Orange fans, but there is also a lot to do in the village outside of that.

The most important: the prices

Then of course the prices. In times when everything is becoming more and more expensive, it is interesting to see how people in Zandvoort deal with a golden opportunity like the racing Formula 1 circus. “We are keeping it a bit the same. The prices are slightly higher than usual with us, but in principle we do not approach things differently than usual. It is only in the prices of the hotel rooms, the catering prices will continue. just right,” she finally says. We also researched the prices of a beer in Zandvoort. Outside the circuit you usually pay between 3 euros and 3.50 euros for a can of lager at a stall, while on the terraces you pay around 3.20 euros for a vase. For half a liter you tap 6.20 euros. Cheers!
