SPORTS. The month of September marks the beginning of a new season for the various Voltigeurs du Cégep de Drummondville sports teams.
The men’s outdoor soccer team will inaugurate the 2022-2023 season this Friday, September 2, at 8 p.m., at Marchand Sports Park. For this home opener, the Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe Laureates will be the visitors.
“As at the start of each season, we are all excited to attend this first home game. One thing is certain, our student-athletes are surrounded by an excellent team and are ready for action,” said the head of the sports and physical activity department at Cégep de Drummondville, Michaël de Grandpré.
Once again this year, more than 250 student-athletes will play for one of the Cégep’s 15 sports teams, from football to women’s hockey, including soccer, baseball, basketball, flag- football, volleyball, badminton, swimming, tennis or even archery. The schedule of local games is available at this address.
To support its sports teams, the Fondation du Cégep de Drummondville offers Loto-Voltigeurs. This year, the total prize value is $6,800. Tickets are on sale for $20, from 1is September to 1is February, via the Foundation’s website. (JH)
