Vincent Mannaert provides state of affairs in Club Brugge stadium file

Will it come or will it not? Club Brugge is eager to build a new football temple, but the first stone has not yet been laid. Vincent Mannaert no longer dares to make predictions.

“I hope to play in the new stadium as soon as possible”, Vincent Mannaert smiles at MIDMIDPodcast. “We currently already have a permit and that in itself is historic. But that permit has yet to be finalized.”

The general manager deliberates and weighs his words. “I hope we get that answer before the turn of the year. And then it is important to roll out the plan as it is now on the table. That also brings a lot of challenges with it.”

Hopefully the building permit will get a definitive character before the turn of the year

“We are going to build a new stadium on the same site as the current Jan Breydel Stadium”, concludes Mannaert. “And there are two other clubs playing in there. Excuse me, there are still two teams playing in there. (winks) But with, say, Atlético Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, we have examples from abroad. We are confident it will work.”
