After the Dornbirn Indians presented at the start of the final on Saturday, the Vienna Wanderers managed to equalize in the “best-of-five” final series. The Viennese clearly prevailed 13-0 on Sunday.

The Vienna Wanderers showed a clear reaction after the opening defeat in Dornbirn. Led by pitcher Peter Reyes, the dominator of the regular season responded with a 13-0 shutout victory on Sunday. Reyes had the Indians offensive under control. As soon as a hit was successful, the Viennese defense was there. On the other hand, Indians pitcher Shotaro Usui didn’t find his usual rhythm. Jochen Pfister replaced Usui in the fifth inning, bringing strong new impetus, but he couldn’t avert defeat. On the Wanderers’ offensive, Dominik Talir was particularly convincing, hitting the only home run of the game and being responsible for four RBIs in total.

The “best-of-five” final series will continue on September 24 with two games and – if necessary – will be decided by September 25 at the Spenadlwiese Ballpark at the latest.
