Incrediball Tournament 2022
Last Saturday, the Bretten Kangaroos hosted their beloved Incrediball tournament. The Incrediball Tournament is a slow pitch softball tournament for anyone who is not registered or active in a baseball or softball team.
Six teams from the region took part. The Pforzheim Wilddogs, Burgwächter, Bretten Panthers, G-Town Bombers, Remchingen Racoons and the Killer Snails. In the group stage, the teams played each other alternately on 2 places to define which teams will advance to the final and which will play the 3rd place match.
In between a home run derby was played. Each team provided their own pitcher and 1 batsman for the challenge. The hitter and pitcher duo had 10 attempts to hit as many home runs as possible. Most of the home runs flew over the limit only during the last batting run by the G-Town Bombers from Gemmingen. The home run king (Kevin) and his pitcher (Agim) had won a case of free drinks for his team with 5 homers.
It was very impressive to see how the 3 new teams (Panthers, Racoons and Killer Snails), who had played in the tournament for the first time, were able to keep up very well with the other teams with only a few training sessions.
The Wilddogs were able to get 3 wins in the preliminary round and played against the G-Town Bombers from Gemmingen in the final. The Bretten Panthers played against the Burgwächter for third place.
Despite continuous improvement by the Panthers, the Burgwächter won the game and secured 3rd place in the 3rd place game.
The final game Pforzheim Wilddogs against the G-Town Bombers from Gemmingen was incredibly exciting. Both teams were able to keep the score close to each other throughout the game. In the last inning, however, the G-Town Bombers prevented the Wilddogs from scoring and thus won the game 15 to 13.
