He remained at the absolute top, but the end is near, according to him. WBO, WBA and IBF world heavyweight boxing king Oleksandr Usyk has revealed his retirement plans. But before he finally hangs up his gloves, he is about to perform against first-class opponents.

“In my top form, I can manage three more matches. Yes, then I will end my career,” he revealed in an interview for the YouTube channel of his promoter organization Usyk17.

And at the same time, he announced what kind of opponent he is aiming for. “I want to fight Tyson Fury, Canelo Álvarez and then have a farewell fight at the Olympic Stadium in Kyiv,” he said at the end of his career.

The 35-year-old Ukrainian boxer has two winning fights with Anthony Joshua, whom he dethroned from the boxing throne. Immediately after the win in the rematch, he challenged Tyson Fury, who holds the WBC title, to a match for the complete collection of heavyweight belts.

However, the native of Simferopol would not participate in the star super fight until the spring of next year, in the meantime, Fury would like to defend his title against Joshua this year.

It’s Canelo who has defended his complete collection of super middleweight belts this weekend. With the victory, he successfully completed the trilogy with Gannadiy Golovkin, which made him eat up his surprise defeat in the light heavyweight division against Russian Dmitry Bivol, which was only his second of his career.

However, Usyk, currently operating as a heavyweight, would be a huge challenge for the phenomenal Mexican.

Against Canelo just for the money

“Yes, I will go against Canelo. He wants to box with me. It would be a crazy fight, just for money. But why not? In short, just for money,” the native of Simferopol did not hide.

Usyk also returned to Joshua’s bizarre extempore after their recent match. The Briton could not bear the defeat, threw Usyk’s belts out of the ring and walked to the dressing room insulted. He then came back, took the microphone and gave a strange speech in which he dwelt on his past and then began to praise Usyk.

“If you knew my story, you’d understand the passion. I’m not some fucking amateur boxer from the age of five, to be some promise for the future. I went to prison in Reading. They let me out on bail and I started riding farts in training.. .,” Joshua reported while still in the ring. Then, among other things, he called on the audience to shout “hooray” to celebrate Usyk’s triumph.

“It seemed to me that he was behaving like a poor fool. He seemed to me like a little boy who wanted to play with a ball that was taken from him, so he decided that he would rather throw it over the fence to the neighbor,” Usyk explains with distance opponent’s behavior.

“But it just hit him and nobody should blame him. He trained hard, he believed in something and then he lost for the second time in a row. He was in good shape but I was a bit better, thank God. That may explain his verbal diarrhea. But I believe he is a good person,” added Usyk.
