Vanzeir uncertain for Union trip to Eupen, Nieuwkoop out for a few weeks

The Union must quickly turn the knob. After winning a great victory against Malmö on the second day of the Europa League, Karel Geraerts’ men travel this Sunday (4 p.m.) to Eupen.

For this meeting, the unionist T1 will not be able to count on Bart Nieuwkoop, who came out injured last Sunday against Genk. “He has a muscle problem in his thigh which means he will be out for this Sunday, explained Geraerts. He will be able to take advantage of the international break to heal. He will be out for a few weeks. It’s not really a tear but you still have to give it some time.”

If Koki Machida is still on the sidelines, Dante Vanzeir is uncertain for the trip to Eupen. Left to rest against Malmö, he injured his left thigh at the end of training on Wednesday. “He will take a test at the hospital on Friday to know his exact injury. So we are waiting for the results. For the rest, everyone is more or less fit, we will have more news on Saturday.”

Excluded against Antwerp, Lazare is suspended for the reunion with his ex-club.
