Toby Alderweireld reprimanded by Antwerp: “Have called his broker” | Football24

Toby Alderweireld is not doing so well at the Red Devils, unlike at Antwerp. However, a story is now emerging where he was reprimanded.

And that has everything to do with the transfer soap that took place in August, in which the transition from the Qatari Al-Duhail was particularly difficult. And to which Alderweireld himself added an extra dimension that went down very badly with Antwerp.

In particular, the tweet “Relaxing And Feeling Content” aka RAFC that the defender sent into the world, cryptically announcing that the transfer was in order before the deal was officially finalized.

“I didn’t think that was necessary at all at the time”, Antwerp CEO Sven Jaecques now reveals The newspapaer. “We were close at the time, but things like that can still complicate the negotiations.”

“Toby and his family really wanted to come back. That suits them and I think that’s great. But at the time, that tweet was no help to us,” said Jaeques. “Then I called his broker. He obviously knew nothing about it.”
