The Spanish stole the progress from the Portuguese. Both Serbs and Scots are aiming for the elite

The players of Spain became the last participant of the Final Four of the League of Nations. In a direct fight for first place in the “Czech” group A2, they won 1:0 in Portugal with a goal by Álvaro Morata in the 88th minute. After six rounds, coach Luis Enrique’s men dominated the table by a point ahead of their rival from the Iberian Peninsula.

The Portuguese had the upper hand in Braza for a long time, but Jota and captain Ronaldo’s shots were blocked by goalkeeper Simón, Bruno Fernandes headed into the side netting. The Spaniards withstood the home pressure and just before the end decided from a rare chance. Substitute Nico Williams extended the ball with his head to the free Morata, who easily finished into the empty net. “La Roja” players were joined by Italians, Croatians and the Dutch in the Final Four. The tournament will take place next year in June.

Serbia and Scotland advanced to the elite division A. In a direct match in group B4, the Serbians won 2:0 in Norway after goals from Vlahovic and Aleksandar Mitrovic. A goalless draw with Ukraine was enough for the Scots to finish in Group B1.

Sweden drew 1:1 with Slovenia and was relegated to League C. The first goal was scored by visiting Šeško in the 28th minute. The northerners, who needed to win in order to stay in the “B”, equalized shortly before the break with a goal by Forsberg, but they were unable to turn it around.
