The Jonquiérois Judo-club has been defending the values ​​of judo for more than fifty years

The Jonquiérois Judo-club (JCJ) recently resumed its activities. Created in 1966, it is one of the oldest sports clubs in the town and shows great vitality under the leadership of Stéphane Mazoyer, its president. Indeed, lessons are offered to 70 children and teenagers from the age of 3, for three hours, on Mondays and Thursdays, with one hour of lessons per age group.

The objective is to convey the values ​​of judo which are rigor, respect, self-control and friendship, and to train participants in techniques, starting with learning how to fall to the ground. From the age of 10, and as soon as they are ready, children and teenagers can take part in competitions. The belts, up to brown, are awarded by Anthony Colin, the club’s teacher, 2nd dan black belt. For the little ones, behavior and attendance are taken into account, while for the older ones, the achievement is acquired with regard to the ability to carry out holds requiring a particular technical skill.

If the required equipment is the kimono, for adults, no outfit is required. Indeed, for the fifteen adults attending the club, cardio, maintenance and muscle strengthening sessions are offered. Financial participation, with easy payment, ranges from 120 to 220 € and a backpack is offered to each member.
