They have in their hands to go up to the highest category after their victory against Montemar, now they wait to know the name of their rival

The Dénia Básquet Club cadet, a team led by Pascual Miralles, carried out a difficult confrontation in the Joan Fuster pavilion against Montemar de Alicante, which he defeated by 66 to 59, and thus closes the first part of the Ascent Phase unbeaten of Preseason (FAP) at Level 1 Autonomous Male Cadet.

The victory guarantees the Dénia Básquet Club to play next weekend one of the final matches in which the two places for promotion to the maximum competition provided by the Basketball Federation of the Valencian Community (FBCV) will be distributed.

Advantage

The locals started the match very focused, imposing their defensive capacity and superiority under the basket, to make quick transitions. This dominance in the game made them close the first quarter with a clear advantage (18-5).

But Montemar came into play in the second period, showing signs of his true potential, and reduced the difference at halftime to just three points (31-28).

higher intensity

When they returned to the playing field, Pascual Miralles’ men increased their intensity and once again distanced themselves from their rivals, leaving the match practically sentenced (52-37).

The third quarter was spectacular by the Dianenses, who were successful in closing the passing lines of their rival. They clearly dominated under the boards and this allowed them quick counterattacks that ended in easy baskets.

The ability of the people from Alicante to fight and their need to give up the shortest possible final distance in order to qualify as the best seconds of the three initial groups did not help them to have victory options again, but it did compress the final result until leaving in seven points the difference with which the match ended (66-59).

decisive clash

In the next few days, the Dianenses will meet the rival for the decisive match, which will be one of the other two first in the group, Picken Claret or Don Bosco, both from Valencia. The team determined by a draw to be held at the FBCV headquarters will play as local.
