The Danish National Team Has a New Jersey, Forms a Protest to Qatar

Copenhagen

The Danish national team has just launched its new jersey for the 2022 World Cup. However, there is a protest for Qatar behind the Dynamite Team uniform.

Like most other national teams, Denmark also introduced the uniform that will be used for the upcoming World Cup. There are three jerseys that will be brought by Denmark.

However, there is something different from the Denmark jersey this time because it uses a monochrome theme, aka the same color, namely red for home, white for away, and black for the three uniforms.

Apparently there is a hidden message from the three jerseys. According to Hummel, this jersey was made as a sign of protest over the human rights abuses committed by Qatar during preparations for the World Cup.

One example is related to the number of workers who died while building infrastructure and Qatar seemed to turn a blind eye to it. They don’t care about the lives lost, because the main focus of the 2022 World Cup can run.

Therefore, Denmark wants to show the world that FIFA has made a big mistake in choosing Qatar as the host.

“This color symbolizes mourning,” said Hummel’s statement about the black Denmark third jersey.

“When we fully support the Danish national team, it doesn’t mean we support a tournament that has claimed thousands of lives.

“We do not want to be seen during the tournament. We will fully support the Danish national team, but not support Qatar as the host.”

Previously, Denmark and nine European countries launched the One Love Campaign during the 2022 World Cup. This is a campaign against discrimination in any form during the World Cup.

Denmark are in Group D with defending champions France, Tunisia and Australia.
