The coveted free agent training with the Warriors

Defending champions, the Warriors will not leave their throne as easily as their rivals might hope. As such, they want to further strengthen their workforce for the season, why not with the signing of a free agent… already there!

Once the title celebration was over, the front office members had to quickly get back to work, and knew that a tricky summer was ahead of them. Indeed, given the already full salary grid of the team, the Warriors found themselves forced to let slip some elements of their roster. This is what they did with Otto Porter Jr., Gary Payton II, Nemanja Bjelica or Juan Toscano-Anderson.

To compensate for all these departures, the leaders of Golden State obviously had to find some reinforcements at low cost on the market. The signings of Donte DiVincenzo, JaMychal Green and Jerome Robinson are part of this process. Recruitment may not even be complete in the Bay yet, since Steph Curry & Co. covet yet another name… and seem well placed to attract him.

Inevitable meeting between Andre Iguodala and the Warriors?

A few days before the start of the franchise’s training camp, Steve Kerr answered questions from journalists on Thursday, and mentioned the case of Andre Iguodala, more than ever expected by the Dubs. Without really getting too wet, the coach made it clear that he too dreams of the return of the veteran, while slipping a big indiscretion, reported by Taylor Wirth and NBC Sports Bay Area :

I keep hope, but beyond that, I don’t really know what Andre will do. He trains here and asks the training staff to work with him and judge him. I think he takes the temperature to find out what he can do, and he was told from the start that he could take as long as he wanted. So he takes his time, and that’s fine with us. We’ll see.

At 38, Iggy is therefore keeping in shape at the facilities of GS, with whom he has won his four championship rings. Will he have the opportunity to grab a fifth in the coming months? The decision is up to him, and will be revealed in the next episode of his podcast. Point Forward. This should also be published soon, given a tweet posted a few hours ago, which leaves the suspense:

Update : Iguodala’s decision finally known!

Admittedly losing ground on the sporting level, Andre Iguodala is nonetheless a part of the California locker room. The fact that he continues to train with the franchise could precisely indicate that he intends to keep this role next year!
