I Boston Celtics are looking to hire another veteran coach as assistant to interim head coach Joe Mazzulla, called to take over the position of Ime Udoka, who has been suspended all season.
They’re seeking permission to speak to the Clippers’ assistant Jay Larranaga to get him to join Mazzulla’s staff this season, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski via Twitter.
He is a familiar face in Boston. Larranaga, a former player seen for many years in Italy (Olimpia, Virtus Roma, Juvecaserta) joined Tyronn Lue’s staff last season after spending nine years with Boston, including seven as Brad Stevens’ assistant.
