The affouage cuts will begin in the communal forest

Following the numerous reservations of affouage wood offered since the end of 2021, the National Forestry Office, mandated by the municipality of Séméac, will carry out thinning cuts on plot 5 of the municipal forest from the end of September 2022. The duration of this operation is estimated at three months, subject to favorable weather conditions. These cuts are intended to favor the growth of the most beautiful by removing the badly shaped subjects or in groups that are too tight. In addition, it will only take a limited number of trees, applying maximum precautions in favor of biodiversity. The plot concerned is located between the agricultural fields below Séméac, and the departmental road 21 rising towards the hills. It is mainly made up of oaks, robinia false acacia and various hardwoods.

The wood is sold in lots of approximately 5 m3 apparent, at the price of €35 per m3. It will be presented in 2 meter logs to be cut on site by the purchaser. It will be stored, for recovery as soon as possible by the purchaser, partly at the level of the Espace Nature and the archery range, rue de la République, and partly at the level of a storage in the woods near the railway line (access from the D21). As the cuts are made, the municipality will contact each Séméacais who has placed an order, to confirm the availability of the wood and set an appointment date for the recovery of the order.

The affouage is intended exclusively for Séméacais.
