Incredible week for the Habs at the Portuguese Open at Royal Óbidos. They were even three to play for victory in the play-off and it was Pierre Pineau who got the better of David Ravetto and Félix Mory thanks to an eagle. Four other French people follow in the top 20.

With five Frenchmen in the last three games when starting the last lap, the chances of seeing a Habs lift the trophy this Sunday north of Lisbon were quite good.

The outcome satisfied all the supporters of French golf since three of our representatives competed for the title in the play-off.

Felix Mory already winner last year in Sweden made up for the three strokes behind he had on the head thanks to an excellent 66 (-6), and in particular two birdies to finish.

His final -15 was first matched by Pierre Pineau. The protege of Guillaume Biaugeau at the Golf du Vaudreuil, who started the season on theAlps Tour, did not make any mistakes during this last day (-5) with in particular four birdies on the way.

With a final birdie at 18, a third Frenchman joined the fight at the very end of the afternoon. David Ravetto, still looking for a first success on the Challenge Tour, shared the last part with Bussy player Jeong Weon Ko and Englishman Todd Clements.

A tiebreaker and heading to the French Open

Boosted Pierre Pineau finally only needed a barrage hole and an eagle at 18, after a very long putt, to get the better of his two opponents.

At 23 and almost 3 months after coming close to qualifying for The Open in Saint Andrews, the player of the Vaudreuil signs his first pro victory after 3 podiums this season on the Alps Tour and a second place in Austria on the Challenge Tour in July.

This success allows him to settle in 20th place in the Road to Mallorca and to dream of joining the big circuit next year. He will have a taste of it this week since he has been invited to play the Cazoo Open de France at the Golf National from Thursday.
