Start Eredivisie women’s volleyball postponed to the end of October

SLIEDRECHT – The start of the Eredivisie women’s volleyball does not start on October 1, as with the men, but has been moved to the weekend of October 22. The Dutch Volleyball Association (NeVoBo) is allowed by the FIVB World Volleyball Association to start its highest competition only after the national team’s season has ended. The final of the Women’s Volleyball World Cup will be played on October 15.

In recent years, the Netherlands has invariably received dispensation from the FIVB to start earlier with the Dutch Eredivisie. This season, the World Volleyball Federation is leveling the international playing field, without exceptions. (Photo Sliedrecht Sport)

The Nevobo has tried in collaboration with the Dutch Eredivisie clubs to be allowed to start on October 1, but that has not been successful. This means that the first three rounds will not take place and will be made up at a later time.

Postponed and program
For Sliedrecht, this means that the home games against VC Sneek (Saturday, October 1, 2022) and VC Zwolle (Saturday, October 15, 2022) will be moved, just like the away game against Apollo 8 (Saturday, October 8, 2022). The Eredivisie Men will start. Saturday, October 1, 2022, as scheduled. The Sliedrecht Sport men start off against Orion. Saturday, October 8, 2022, the first home game – again a topper – will be against Lycurgus.
