Spaniard Andres Garcia hits gold in the junior men’s trap – OA Sport

In Larnaca, where the 2022 European clay pigeon shooting is taking place, the Spanish anthem resounds. Andres Garcia in fact won the men’s junior trap competition at the end of a long day made up of qualifiers, semifinals and the final.

In the final act, the Iberian distinguished himself by breaking 27 of the 35 targets available (with the Golden Hit) preceding the Turkish Suleyman Guvercin, second with the score of 24, and the Romanian Francesco-Alessandro Tiganescu, third at 17/25.

At home Italy, however, no medal arrived. A pity for Emanuele Iezzi who, in the end classified fourth, proved too foul in the final with a place on the podium up for grabs; while Riccardo Mirabile (113/125) and Matteo D’Ambrosi (112/125) they finished in twelfth and thirteenth place respectively.

Tomorrow specialists and specialists of the trap still on the platform: in fact, the Mixed Team competition is on the agenda. Italy will field Emanuele Iezzi and Giorgia Lenticchia and Riccardo Mirabile and Sofia Littame, the latter who today won the women’s individual competition.
