Oriol Romeu was presented this afternoon as Girona’s new player after the agreement with Southampton for his transfer was closed yesterday evening. The final agreement has meant that the players of the citizen Edozie and Larios end up at Southampton. Romeu, 30 years old, signs for three seasons.
MOTIVATIONS
There are many. Entering a new project full of ambition and with the challenge of consolidating the team first. After years away, I was eager to start a new adventure. Many of the requirements I was looking for were met here. Thanks to the two clubs it was impossible.
CONTRIBUTIONS
Having been at these levels for so many years allows me to know how to manage situations, both successful and complicated. When it comes to dealing with them, I have this background that can help manage them. In the field I can contribute both with and without the ball.
MICHEL
I like to be the protagonist with the ball and have it, but I can also bring strength in defense and an extra physicality that is necessary to compete well at these levels. I see myself ready to take on the challenge and bring experience.
PHYSICALLY
I am ready and available. Whether I will play or not is up to the master. I trained today and throughout pre-season at a good level. I take good care of myself.
PRESSURE
We put the pressure on ourselves. It’s a nice pressure, not negative, and it doesn’t make me anxious or afraid. I have the mindset of knowing what I’m coming to contribute. I’m excited
