“We all hope for a fairy tale ending. So was mine: I lost my last singles match, I lost my last doubles match, I lost my last team tournament, I lost my voice and I lost my job.”, he wrote, with humor, along with a series of sad emojis.

With characteristic warmth, Federer added: “Anyway, my retirement couldn’t have been more perfect and I’m happy with the way everything turned out.”

“So don’t overthink those perfect endings. His will be amazing in his own way,” she concluded.

At the age of 41, the winner of 20 Grand Slam tournaments ended his professional career and, although he still does not know for sure what the future holds, he does not rule out continuing to be linked to tennis in some way.

“Congratulations to the world team, great comeback. It has been emotional at times, but very big. I can’t thank you enough. I have enjoyed every minute”, pointed out Federer, who promised to travel to Canada in 2023 for the next edition of the Laver Cup.
