On Tuesday, the Latvian champion team RFS won the match of the 29th round of the “Optibet” Latvian football superleague, which was supposed to take place before the national team break.

RFS, as a guest, won 3:1 (1:1) for the fourth time this season over “Daugavpils” footballers.
Already in the tenth minute, after an unsuccessful handball game by Daugavpils, RFS was put in the lead by Kevin Friesenbichler, who realized a penalty kick.
After six minutes, when Jozefs Ba Janki sent the ball into the RFS goal, “Daugavpils” equalized the result.
In the second half, in the 68th minute, Emersons Deusleisanas scored the winning goal for the Riga team, but in the third minute of the compensation time, Žiga Lipušček made it 3:1.
The two teams had met three times this season, with the RFS teams winning all of them and managing to score four goals. “Daugavpils” has managed to score only one goal in three games against Riga.
The football super league will continue on September 30, when the first match of the 30th round will be played, in which Salaspils “Super Nova” will host “Riga”.
“Valmiera” is at the head of the tournament table with 70 points accumulated in 29 matches, “Riga” football players have 63 points in 29 matches, and RFS also scored 63 points in 29 games. “Liepāja” completes the leading four with 54 points in 29 duels. Fifth is “Auda” with 47 points, sixth is “Tukums 2000″/”Telms” team, which has 30 points in 29 matches, while “Daugavpils” is seventh with 28 points. “Metta” has 21 points in 29 matches, while “Spartak” Jurmala has 18 points in 29 matches and “Super Nova” has 18 points in 29 matches.
Ten teams are playing in the 2022 Super League. Last season, RFS triumphed for the first time in the club’s history, Valmiera came in second, and Liepāja won the bronze. Meanwhile, the champion team of the previous three seasons “Riga” took the fourth place.
In the “Optibet” Future League season, the first three places were occupied by “Auda”, “Tukums 2000″/TSS and “Super Nova” teams, joining the clubs of the top league.
