Queretanos go to the 4×4 World Cup – Plaza de Armas

The Mexican 4×4 Basketball Team for athletes with Down Syndrome will have the participation of people from Queretaro in the final squad that will attend the World Championship to be held in Portugal. The team is also led by a queretana, Lorena Sánchez, who with her group of players have achieved something historic by qualifying for this event.

Alexander Ochoa, Ángel Durán and Mario Muñoz will be the athletes who will represent Mexico and Querétaro in the Third IBA21 4×4 Basketball World Championship for Athletes with Down Syndrome. The competition will take place from September 29 and will end on October 3 this year.

The selective event was held in the city of Tijuana, Baja California last March; In this, some men’s teams participated in other states such as Aguascalientes, Chiapas, Sinaloa, Baja California, Chihuahua and Querétaro. Those chosen to travel to Portugal and representing Mexico were the people from Chihuahua and Queretaro, who showed all their talent and potential in the sport. José Gerardo Fuentes Holguín, Gilberto Cueva Gutiérrez, Alfonso Medina, and Alexander Ochoa, Ángel Durán and Mario Muñoz from Queretaro were summoned by Lorena Sánchez and her coaching staff.

This will be the first time that Mexico participates in this important international event, which makes it something historic and worthy of recognizing these great athletes.
