Nasser Al-Khelaifi warns of the importance of financial sustainability
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of PSG, was the first speaker at Football Talks – a reflection forum that brings together, in the City of Football, many well-known names among fans -, in a panel dedicated to the theme ‘The Future of Football’. The director of the French club warned of the importance of financial sustainability. “We invest, we don’t buy, because we love football. In covid, investment saved football. But there are clubs very indebted and that is a danger”, said the Qatari.

Al-Khelaifi, who has always spoken out against the European Super League, also praised the new format of the Champions League. “This new formula increases the number of games by 150 percent and is already a success. We are united in the sense of developing football, respecting fans and the media, as the football ecosystem is much bigger than two or three clubs . This is very important for all of us”.
