The entrance to the provincial domain De Ster in Sint-Niklaas will look completely different by 2024. The design for the new entrance building is ready. The new building with sports hall, brasserie and offices will be located on the current parking lot of the Lange Rekstraat. In this way it can connect directly to the surrounding greenery and the pond. The same amount of parking space will be provided as now, but at the location where tennis courts are currently located. In the sports hall there will be fields for badminton, tennis, volleyball, basketball, handball, mini football and indoor hockey. A special storage room is provided for water sports. The complex will be built with sustainable materials that have a low environmental impact. During the works, which will start in the spring of 2023 and last until the end of 2024, De Ster will remain fully accessible. Price tag for all this: a good 7 million euros.
