Phoenix asks Utah about Bojan Bogdanovic

The Jazz are completely changing. Rudy Gobert’s goodbye heralded a revolution in the team and that’s how it is. Last night, after weeks of negotiations with various franchises, Utah closed out Donovan Mitchell’s departure for Cleveland. Yes, reconstruction has come to Salt Lake City and there are still those who intend to fish in it.

Among those interested in ‘helping’ them rebuild is Phoenix. According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, the Suns picked up the phone as soon as they learned of the Donovan Mitchell trade to inquire about the Bojan Bogdanovic situation. Without his two traveling companions, Gobert and Mitchell, the Croatian remains the most coveted piece of the previous project; and of course, being 33 years old now, he doesn’t seem to fit in with the Jazz’s new plan, which is based on young talent and picks del draft.

Although Bogdanovic appears to be on a different page than his current organization, Danny Ainge obviously isn’t going to give it away — he never does. The aforementioned journalist points out that those from Arizona would need to include several players and some sweetener regarding future drafts in order to get hold of the veteran forward.

The reality is that at first glance – without knowing the details of a hypothetical operation – the acquisition of Bogdanovic by Phoenix sounds pretty good. Last year he left with an average of 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists, all while shooting 38.7% from three-point range. Plus, the Suns need a boost after last season’s painful end and that could come with the Croatia international.
