OPENING. Panamanian pitcher Andy Otero got his first victory, in his debut in the Taiwan League, in the triumph of his team, the CTBC Brothers 5-2 against the Rakuten Monkeys, at the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Taichung, the Wednesday morning.
Otero pitched 5.2 innings of five hits, a home run, two runs, gave away two walks and struck out one.
‘I knew that they have a good team, they are in first place and for a reason, but I was focused on doing my job, throwing strikes and that helped me a lot during the game,’ he said after the match.
“I went out to do my job, I know we have a good team and I did the job, the team also went on offense and we were able to get the victory,” he added, satisfied with the work accomplished, far from his homeland.
