On Sunday 9 October, the “PalaEnergica Paolo Ferraris” will be the venue for the first edition of the Monferrato Karate Open, an absolute novelty for Casale and which will be open to all Fijlkam members (Italian Federation of Judo Fight Karate Martial Arts) and to promotional bodies sports recognized by Coni. Organized by the karate school Na Ka Ryu Casale 1965, it will allow the participating athletes, who will be able to register without having to pass any selection, to compete also with karateka of important clubs, such as the Tkt karate of Turin, the Ippon 2 of Biella or the members of the Gold or Army flames.
«Unfortunately, the big national names will be absent as they are in preparation for the future European Junior Championships and the absolute World Championships. But this will not take away the possibility for the participants to face competitions of the highest technical level ”, explains Pier Paolo Cornaglia, technical director of NaKa Ryu.
The event received the patronage of the Municipality of Casale Monferrato and, as the commissioner Luca Novelli explained: «Once again the city will have the honor of hosting the great Karate! Thanks to Pier Paolo Cornaglia and his team, we will have a high level competition with an absolutely new formula for Casale. For this I thank him and I wish all the participating athletes a lot of fun ».
Nineteen athletes from the Casalese school will also participate in the competition, included in the regional ranking circuit as a first step for the selection of the athletes of the national seminars. , on the other hand, with more competitions behind it. These are the names: Mattia Cornaglia, Edoardo Carpignano, Mattia Lituri, Matteo Leotardi, Luca Cunico, Andrea Ferrando, Gianluca Gentile, Cesare Binotto, Pietro Ciceri, Sofia Ciceri, Mattia Burzotta, Gaia Quaranta, Aurora Bargero, Matilde Visetti, Federico Boarino, Caterina Pellicciari, Alfons Cico, Matteo Skilja and Samuel Coppo.
The coaches will be Fabrizio Carpignano, Mauro Rabbachin, Tommaso Cornaglia and Tiziana Lasalvia. Also present was the master Gennaro Talarico of the Tkt of Turin, selector of the official youth karate team and former World Champion, European Champion and World Game winner. Among the referees, however, there will be some official world championships of the World Karate Federation.
