Official, Luca Marini Stays With Mooney VR46 in MotoGP 2023 : Okezone Sports

WITH SYLLABLES – Italian driver Luca Marini has officially signed another year’s contract with Team Mooney VR46. This means that the half-brother of Valentino Rossi will stay with the Ducati satellite team in MotoGP 2023.

With that certainty, Marini will return to a duet with Marco Bezzecchi next season, as happened in the 2022 MotoGP. Previously, Bezzecchi had already extended his contract.

“Mooney VR46 Racing Team has confirmed that Luca Marini will remain with the team for the 2023 MotoGP season in an unchanged line-up alongside Marco Bezzecchi,” reads an official statement on the MotoGP website, Monday (12/9/2022).

The 25-year-old racer also admitted that he was very happy to continue with his team in the upcoming 2023 season. He has ambitions to continue the progress he has made during the 2022 MotoGP next season.

“I am very happy to announce the renewal of the contract with Mooney VR46 Racing Team also for 2023. It is important to give continuity to this team and the Ducati project which is leading us to get good results and to fight for the podium at the end of this season,” said Marini.

The new contract certainly cannot be separated from the brilliant performance shown by Marini in the second half of the 2022 season. How not? After the summer break, he managed to secure a fourth straight position in the last two races at the Red Bull Ring and Misano.

Therefore, Mooney VR46 did not hesitate to offer a new contract to the rider who debuted in MotoGP last season. His team mate, Bezzecchi, who is a rookie this season also performed quite brilliantly by having won his first podium in the premier class at the race at Assen.

With their increasing performance in the second half of this season, of course they are expected to continue to grow next season. The goal, of course, is to bring Mooney VR46 to be even more competitive next year, which is their second year in the world’s most elite motorcycle race.
