New striker in winter? Bayern has Portugal snapper Goncalo Ramos on the radar

FC Bayern currently has an enormous problem in converting the great opportunities that certainly exist. In the last four Bundesliga games, only three goals were scored despite a total of almost 100 goals. No wonder, then, that the discussions about the missing clear number nine are increasing significantly. Harry Kane is probably the preferred candidate for the summer of 2023. But Munich also seems to have an alternative on the list, which may change in winter.

The Bayern offensive cannot yet compensate for Robert Lewandowski’s missing 40-50 goals per season. Accordingly, a name that was already associated with FC Bayern in 2019 and last summer could become relevant again. We’re talking about Portuguese striker Goncalo Ramos from Benfica Lisbon. The 21-year-old managed just eight goals last season in the shadow of Darwin Nunez. Possibly a reason why Bayern have not yet struck at the young attacker. In the 2022/23 season, however, Ramos already has eight goals and five assists in just twelve games. A terrific value that could encourage rethinking.

Manchester and Newcastle are vying for Ramos

According to the English newspaper “Sun” Munich once again have their eye on the Portugal U21 international, who has scored 14 goals in 18 appearances for his country. However, FC Bayern is not alone in its interest in the up-and-coming Sturm hope. Manchester United and Newcastle United are also said to have put out feelers to Ramos. Both clubs want to make an offer for the attacker in the range of almost 30 million euros in winter.

Julian Nagelsmann doesn’t want to hear about a new centre-forward yet: “We can do it and we have the players for it. We just have to finish it better,” the coach replied to the striker’s question after the Augsburg game. The Munich goal doldrums would have to continue for several weeks for the bosses to really consider a winter transfer.

As “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg reports, Bayern are not planning to step up their offensive again in the winter. Accordingly, Nagelsmann should “form a unit with the existing players.” In addition, Tel already has a storm talent on board. In addition, Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur is considered the “1A” solution for the summer of 2023.
