New Chelsea owner’s huge blunder over Kevin De Bruyne (video)

This is a media release that should not appeal to Racing Genk supporters, and even less to the trainers of its youth school…

Indeed, in a video interview with SALT, the new owner of Chelsea, Todd Boehly, praised the merits of the London club’s academy. A school for young people which is, it must be recognized, among the most successful in the country. “Look at what our academy has developed,” said the American businessman. “We have trained players like Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, or more recently Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Mason Mount, Trevoh Chalobah… When you find the right methods with your academy, it is a very good help for your first team . And, right now, Chelsea is the biggest brand anyone can own in the world of sport. »

Particularly complimentary remarks towards his club, but false on at least one point: Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne were absolutely not trained within the Blues academy… They arrived very young, most certainly spent time with the club’s youth team, but there is absolutely no question of training. As every football fan in Belgium knows, Kevin De Bruyne was trained at La Gantoise then at Racing Genk, while Mohamed Salah comes from the Arab Contractors club in Egypt.

Mr. Boehly, you will therefore have to review your notes in the future…
