National basketball player Dennis Schröder missed the start of the training camp with the Los Angeles Lakers before the NBA season.

“We’re still working on the visa there and hope he’ll be here by the end of the week,” said general manager Rob Pelinka.

The Lakers brought the 29-year-old to Los Angeles for the second time after his strong performances at the European Championship. “He was a tenacious point guard who took care of the whole pitch. We were very concerned with where he was in his career and he was a great leader,” said Pelinka.

Schröder played 61 games for the Lakers in the 2020/2021 season, but was unable to agree on a follow-up contract with the team and then played first for the Boston Celtics and then the Houston Rockets.
