Nations League: Haaland misstep with Norway; Tadic with Serbia still promising after a big win | Football

Based on the head-to-head result, Norway takes the lead in Group 4 of the B division. The team of super striker Erling Haaland will face Serbia at home on Tuesday and then only need one point to promote to the A-division.

Norway took the lead shortly after the break through a goal from Haaland. It was his twelfth goal in nine Nations League matches and his 22nd goal in 21 international matches. Slovenia fought back nicely for its own supporters and won thanks to hits from Andraz Sporar and Benjamin Sesko. At the last goal, Norwegian goalkeeper Orjan Nyland looked bad. The clubless keeper got the confidence of national coach Stale Solbakken, but let an eye-catching shot from Sesko go straight into the far corner.

With Ajax captain Dusan Tadic in the base, Serbia settled with Sweden at home: 4-1. Big man on the side of the Serbs was Aleksandar Mitrovic. The Fulham attacker scored three times. Tadic was replaced five minutes before time.

Israel promoted to A-division

Israel has been promoted to the A division. The team of national coach Alon Hazan won 2-1 against Albania in Tel Aviv and came in group 2 of the B-division on 8 points and can no longer be overtaken by Iceland and Albania.

There are only three teams in group 2 instead of four, because Russia was banned from the Nations League because of the invasion of Ukraine. Shon Zalman Weissman and Baribo Tai scored for Israel. Tai’s winning goal came in stoppage time.
