More than 130 young badminton athletes will compete in Cartagena

The sporting event was presented this Friday, September 9, by the Councilor for Sports, Álvaro Valdés; the president of the Badminton Federation of the Region, Pedro Caparrós; and the president of the Cartagena Badminton Club, Andrea Hernández.

A novelty this year is the change of date, year after year it was held in January, and this year it will be held in September, which has been used to give visibility to our Carthaginian and Roman festivities, giving the tournament its name as “Carthaginian and Roman National Master”

The Master is organized by the Spanish Badminton Federation and by the Cartagena Badminton Club, and has the collaboration of the Cartagena City Council, through its Sports and Tourism Departments, which have provided everything necessary so that more than one hundreds of participants, of this tournament, feel at home.

The event will be attended by 36 clubs, from Galicia, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Extremadura, the Valencian Community, Castilla La Mancha, the Community of Madrid, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, the Basque Country and the Region of Murcia.

The sporting event will take place on 9 tracks of the Palacio de Deportes de Cartagena on Saturday the 10th from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Sunday the final rounds from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In these 2 days, 250 matches will be played, divided into 5 different modalities: men’s, women’s, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. It is a unique opportunity to witness live and with free admission a competition of one of the sports that is having a greater progression in our country in recent years and Cartagena will become the base of Spanish badminton these days, with unbeatable conditions for the practice of badminton
