Many players want to become Indonesian citizens to defend the Indonesian U-20 National Team at the 2023 U-20 World Cup

Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainudin Amali, General Chairperson of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan, and several related ranks are reviewing the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA), Friday (22/7/2022).

BOLASPORT.COM – Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Zainudin Amali admitted that many players want to become Indonesian citizens (WNI) in order to appear to strengthen the Indonesian U-20 national team at the 2023 U-20 World Cup.

As is known, the Indonesian U-20 national team will appear in the 2023 U-20 World Cup as the host team.

To face the 2023 U-20 World Cup, the coach of the Indonesian U-20 national team, Shin Tae-yong, is targeting to naturalize several players.

Previously, Shin Tae-yong had summoned several players who were candidates for naturalization to take part in the training camp (TC) for the Indonesian U-19 national team.

There were three players who were called by Shin Tae-yong at that time, namely Jim Croque, Kai Davy Boham, and Max Christofel.

However, after training together with Marcelino Ferdinand and their friends, they were no longer called by Shin Tae-yong.

Zainudin Amali even admitted that until now there has been no submission of the names of naturalized players except for three names for senior players.

However, for the three names of senior players such as Sandy Walsh, Jordi Amat, and Shayne Pattynama.
