Lionel Messi seems to be under the shadow of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe during his Paris Saint-Germain costume. So, how is La Pulga’s relationship with the two players?
Messi joined PSG in the summer of 2021 and struggled to score goals in his first season. Neymar and Mbappe are more prominent in Paris than the Argentine.
Messi only scored 11 goals and 15 assists in 34 matches in all competitions in his first season. Messi’s role began to improve in the second season by scoring six goals and eight assists from 11 matches in all competitions.
Even though it seems like he lost out to Neymar, Messi is always happy to be reunited with the Brazilian player. The relationship between the two is also very good on and off the field.
“With Ney, we got to know each other, we enjoyed a lot of time in Barcelona, I wanted to be able to enjoy more in Barcelona, but life found us again in Paris,” Messi told Hristo Stoitchkov for Mexican television TUDN recently.
Messi also has no problem with Mbappe. He even praised the French star.
“Kylian (Mbappe) is a different player, strong one-on-one, very fast, scores a lot of goals, is a complete player and has proven that for a long time. In the next few years, he will definitely be the best,” Messi confirmed.
