Linda Fruhvirtova: Top talent from the Czech Republic wins in Chennai and replaces Gauff as the youngest player in the top 100

The Czech Linda Fruhvirtova won her first tournament on the WTA tour at the age of 17.

In the final of the Chennai Open, the teenager beat Magda Linette from Poland in three sets 4:6, 6:3, 6:4.

After the match, the young winner expressed surprise: “I felt good in my game and I knew I could get a good result here, but it was a lot better than we all probably expected.”

In addition to winning the tournament in Pune, Fruhvirtova also improved to 74th in the world rankings, replacing French Open finalist Coco Gauff (18) as the youngest player in the top 100 of the ATP ranking.

Fruhvirtova: Competition from her own sister

But the youngster is already threatened with competition from his own camp. The only 15-year-old sister Brenda emulates Linda Fruhvirtova.

With a series of 25 games won in a row, the younger of the Fruhvirtova sisters is already causing a stir.
