Leon Goretzka’s dissatisfaction is growing

Leon Goretzka made his starting eleven debut this season against VfB Stuttgart. The 27-year-old fought his way back to FC Bayern after his knee surgery and a week-long compulsory break. In the midfield ranking, however, the DFB star is still behind his “backup” Marcel Sabitzer. According to reports, Goretzka’s dissatisfaction is growing, as he is struggling with his current reservist role.

Somewhat surprisingly, Julian Nagelsmann revealed on yesterday’s final PK before the CL duel against FC Barcelona that Marcel Sabitzer will start tonight alongside Joshua Kimmich in defensive midfield. The 35-year-old is usually not a fan of revealing too much information about the starting line-up before important games.

As the “BILD” reports, the clear commitment to Sabitzer was not really well received by Leon Goretzka. The 27-year-old had hoped he could start in the top game against the Catalans. According to his own statements, the German national player feels in top form and is ready to take on more responsibility and, above all, get more playing time. According to Nagelsmann, Bayern currently need defensive stability in their game and relies on Sabitzer. According to reports, Joshua Kimmich also prefers the Austrian at his side at the moment, as he has his back free and Kimmich can therefore go on the offensive more often.

Gravenberch also insists on more operating times

It is interesting: According to “BILD” information, Goretzka’s public demand for more seasons was not well received by the leading players in Munich. The competition at the record champions is fierce this season and Nagelsmann has to make tough personal decisions in every game.

In addition to Goretzka, summer newcomer Ryan Gravenberch is said to be dissatisfied with his current role at FCB. The Dutchman has played seven games this season, but was only allowed to start in the DFB Cup against third division side Viktoria Köln. The 20-year-old is also pushing for more playing time.
