Meeting this Wednesday, the LFP Disciplinary Committee canceled the two red cards distributed last Sunday in Ligue 1 to Sofiane Boufal (Angers) and Bradley Locko (Reims).

The previous weekend had been marked by several contentious expulsions in Ligue 1. Among these, the record red card of Jean-Clair Todibo after only nine seconds of play with Nice against Angers had cost the Aiglons dearly, defeated at the Allianz Riviera by Angers this Sunday (0-1). In this same meeting, Bastien Dechepy had sent another exclusion to the attention of Sofiane Boufal. Accused of having simulated two minutes after the hour mark, the Moroccan international had received a second warning, synonymous with a premature end to the match for him. But unlike the Nice defender (suspended for one match), the SCO striker saw his sanction lifted on Wednesday by the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League.

“After viewing the images and the referee’s report, the Disciplinary Committee decides to withdraw the second yellow card” can we read in the LFP press release published this Wednesday shortly after 9 p.m. Sofiane Boufal will therefore not be suspended for Angers’ next match, scheduled for Friday September 30 at the Raymond-Kopa stadium against OM. An identical lifting of sanction was approved during this commission in favor of Bradley Locko. The Stade de Reims defender was invited to join the locker room by Marc Bollengier in the 22nd minute of the loss conceded at home against Monaco this Sunday (0-3). An unfair decision denounced by the Champagne coach Oscar Garcia after the meeting.

Verratti and Tavares caught by the patrol

On the other hand, in the opposite direction, the committee meeting on Wednesday also imposed sanctions on players who had accumulated three warnings in less than ten league games. This is the case for example of Marco Verratti who will not be able to take part in the reception of OGC Nice on Saturday October 1 at the Parc des Princes. Ditto for the side of OM, Nuno Tavares, who will therefore not apply for a starting place in Angers on 30/09. The Nantais Samuel Moutoussamy will not go to the Louis-II stadium to challenge Monaco there on Sunday October 2.
