Kyrgios messes it up for his irony to Djokovic in Federer’s farewell

The withdrawal of Roger Federer after his doubles match with Rafa Nadal in the Laver Cup made the entire tennis world give up and send off the Swiss tennis player with honors in his last game as a professional.

One of those messages came from Nick Kyrgios, who shared in one of his ‘stories’ an image of Federer applauding for the support received before a visibly moved Rafa Nadal and with Djokovic also applauding the Swiss tennis player.

A photo with which Kyrgios wanted to pay tribute to Federer but with which he generated some controversy with this ironic comment on the situation. “Goodbye King. Novak knows that the chances for the Grand Slams are better now. Rafa is devastated.” joking about Nadal’s tears after Federer’s farewell and the fight between the Serb and the Spaniard to see who ends up with the most Grand Slam.

Some comments that have been highly criticized by several tennis fans, who took the publication as a lack of respect for Federer since, in some media, the image was cropped without including Kyrgios’s message to Federer. Among the Kyrgios messages, the Australian was called an “idiot” and even said that “no one will cry when Kyrgios retires.”

This message from Kyrgios comes after the ‘bromance’ between the Australian and Djokovic after playing the Wimbledon final, with victory for the Serbian, after the Australian’s numerous criticisms of Djokovic in recent years. A ‘bromance’ that continues despite the controversy over this message from Kyrgios that has been misinterpreted on this occasion.
