Hopes dashed

Obviously, the Meilhannais confirmed during the second period that they had not come to make up the numbers in Gironde with a fast game and a defense which considerably destabilized the Bordelais. However, Émile Chassaigne with a nice interception (18-21) then a nice long distance basket, allowed the JSA to lead for a moment (23-21). But it was only an illusion since Garonne inflicted a 12-0 on the Girondins under the impetus of Corentin Lopez (23-29) and Grégory Sequele (23-33). A first gap was made with a +10 in favor of the visitors. Garonne managed until the break and returned to the locker room with a comfortable lead (28-39).

Led by 11 points, the JSA had no choice but to recover. The reaction was not long in coming with transcended Bordelais. The locals thus inflicted a 13-2 under the impetus of Jordan Rezendes and Clément Desmonts who investigated the three-point baskets. Tauzin’s proteges had turned the tide and Kévin Mbaitoubam gave the advantage to his team (42-41). The JSA machine then seemed to fly towards success carried by a fiery Jordan Rezendes, author of 25 points in the game.
