Joshua Kimmich is approaching his top form

FC Bayern started the new 2022/23 Champions League season this week with a commanding 2-0 away win at Inter Milan. In addition to match winner Leroy Sane, Joshua Kimmich was one of the best Bayern players in Milan. The form curve of the 27-year-old points steeply upwards.

With a lot of commitment and passion, Kimmich guided his teammates to victory on Wednesday evening in the San Siro. It wasn’t just the first three points in the new CL season, but also the 19th win in the 19th opening game in a row in the premier class. The unbelievable winning streak continues for FCB. Kimmich certainly played a large part in this. After a weaker phase in the second half of the previous season, the 27-year-old is slowly getting back into top form. The DFB star was never above a duel and fought several thrilling duels, especially with Inter’s Lautaro Martinez.

Kimmich got a black eye in the first half. However, this did not happen in a duel with an Inter star, but in a collision with colleague Sabitzer. However, Kimmich didn’t show anything and showed a strong performance until the end of the game.

“Overall great job from Josh”

A bit drawn, but satisfied, Kimmich was able to give the all-clear after the game: “I’m fine. I’ll be fit again by Saturday.” Nagelsmann was also full of praise for his pacesetter: “Overall, it was a great job from Josh,” said the coach after the end of the game.

Nagelsmann will need his “Aggressive Leader” again tomorrow, Saturday. His skills in Bayern’s game are too important. There probably won’t be a breather. After the last two draws in a row, three points are needed in the Bundesliga. VfB Stuttgart will then be guests in the Allianz Arena at home (3:30 p.m., live on “Sky”).
