Joseph Okumu then suspended for 2 weeks (+1 with postponement) after appeal to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office | Jupiler Pro League

Joseph Okumu took a stupid red card in the league match between Charleroi and Ghent last week, after responding to the provocative Isaac Mbenza with a push.

What followed was a typical Belgian game of ping-pong between the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Disciplinary Committee.

That first instance progressed to four games suspension for Okumu, the second one eventually suspended him – after an appeal from AA Gent – two games, one of which was postponed.

The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office did not agree to this and in turn appealed.

The Disciplinary Council of the association has made it three match days in the final, one of which has been postponed. Okumu also has to pay a fine of 2,500 euros.
