Inter Milan: Milan Skriniar, the most desirable defender in Europe – SOCCER

Will he be the next million dollar signing in the Premier League?

Several top clubs were already interested in Milan Skriniar (27) from Inter Milan in the summer. Paris Saint-Germain in particular negotiated for months with the Italian club about the Slovak, but could not come to an agreement with Inter.

Now Skriniar might be drawn to the island!

As the English newspaper “The Sun” reports, three top clubs from England’s top league are on the defensive ace.

In addition to Tottenham and Chelsea, Manchester City are said to have entered the race for Skriniar with coach Pep Guardiola (51).

The big advantage for the clubs: the Inter star’s contract expires at the end of the season. Instead of the transfer fee of 70 million euros demanded by Inter, the England trio could strike free of charge.

Chelsea had inquired about Skriniar back in the summer. In the end, however, the Blues decided on Wesley Fofana (21), who moved from Leicester City to Stamford Bridge for 80.4 million euros.

At Tottenham, Skriniar would meet Antonio Conte (53) again. He worked with the Italian coach at Inter from 2019 to 2021 and won the Italian championship under him in 2021.

The Milan defender would be a top alternative for Manchester City, as the Citizens have repeatedly struggled with injury problems in the center of defence. In response, the English champions signed Manuel Akanji (27) from BVB.

An extension of Skriniar in Milan is not off the table yet. As the “Gazzetto dello Sport” reports, Inter is working flat out on a new working paper for the international.

There should be two scenarios: an offer until 2027 with an annual salary of 6.5 million euros or an offer with a short term in which an exit clause would be anchored. But it also depends on Skriniar’s plans.

One thing is clear: after the World Cup at the latest, the transfer battle for his services should get really hot.
