Indonesia’s FIFA Ranking Called Up 2 Positions After Beating Curacao

Position Indonesia from ranking FIFA said to be up two positions after beating Curacao on the FIFA Matchday at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium, Saturday (24/9).

The claim was revealed by Footy Rankings, a Twitter account that frequently updates the country’s position in the FIFA rankings.

After the Indonesian national team beat Curacao 3-2, Footy Rankings immediately gave an update on the position of Indonesia and Curacao in the FIFA rankings.

Thanks to the victory over Curacao, Indonesia’s position in the FIFA rankings is ranked 153 in the world. The position is up two places from the latest FIFA ranking list which was released on 25 August.

Indonesia managed to get 7.41 points thanks to a win from Curacao. Thus, Indonesia currently collects 1026.60 points.

While Curacao lost 7.41 points after being defeated by Indonesia. The team from the Caribbean Islands currently has 1285.94 points and has dropped one position to 84th in the FIFA rankings.

Indonesia’s position in the FIFA rankings can continue to increase if it is able to beat Curacao again in the second meeting at the Pakansari Stadium, Cibinong, Tuesday (27/9).

From the start, PSSI said that the FIFA Matchday match against Curacao was used to boost Indonesia’s position in the FIFA rankings. Curacao’s position which is under 100 in the world can make Indonesia’s position shoot up if it is able to win.

Even so, Indonesia will only know its position in the FIFA rankings when the world football authority releases the latest rankings on October 6, 2022.
