Curious scene after the first sentence between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman: A climate activist suddenly runs onto the field, sits down and pours a transparent liquid on his arm.
After the first sentence, the activist, who is wearing a T-shirt that reads “No more British private jets”, runs onto the court in the O2 Arena. The young man then sets himself on fire, but allegedly extinguishes the fire himself because of the pain. The situation is quickly under control and the troublemaker is escorted by security guards to boos.
The match between Tsitsipas and Schwartzman continued without delay. Tsitsipas clearly beats Schwartzman 6-2 and 6-1, giving Team Europe a 2-0 lead.
